Poly Voyager Focus 2 is a candidate for a home office with frequent calls, particularly when you want listening noise cancellation and a visible microphone boom. Before comparing prices, identify whether the purchase is for a computer, mobile phone or physical office telephone. Those uses do not all require the same package.
This guide assesses the documented connection options and practical buying questions. We have not tested the headset's microphone, wireless range or comfort.

Computer connection and desk-phone connection differ
HP's UK Voyager Focus 2 page lists PC and Mac connections through Bluetooth or a BT700 USB-A or USB-C adapter. It describes desk-phone use through a Voyager Office base with a telephone interface cable, sold separately.
A charging stand pictured beside the headset is therefore not sufficient evidence that a kit connects to your physical telephone. Ask for the exact base and telephone compatibility before buying for that purpose.
If all calls happen in applications on your laptop, write that down as the main requirement. It will help you compare the relevant computer kit without accidentally paying for a different arrangement you do not need.
Match the adapter to the everyday port
Check which USB adapter is supplied with the offer and where you expect to leave it. A USB-C-only laptop and a desktop with spare USB-A ports may favour different packages.
On a company-managed computer, confirm the supported headset and application configuration with IT. Pairing and basic audio do not establish that every call-control feature will work through every application or connection method.
During a trial, include docking and undocking if that is part of your routine. Confirm the selected speaker and microphone when you rejoin a meeting rather than assuming the computer has retained the same devices.
Separate listening ANC from microphone processing
HP documents three listening ANC choices: high, low and off. It separately describes microphone noise reduction using Acoustic Fence processing.
These features answer different questions. Listening ANC concerns what you hear; microphone processing concerns the audio sent to other participants. Evaluate both if you work in a room with background noise.
Try the ANC settings at your normal volume and assess whether speech remains comfortable to follow. For the microphone, make a test recording or an agreed test call using the software you actually use. No feature name guarantees complete removal of every distracting sound.
Read the battery claim with its settings
HP's up-to-25-hour talk-time claim requires ANC off and the online indicator off, with a setting change through Poly Lens. The same page documents use as a corded headset with USB audio when you need to continue working.
Plan around the features you expect to leave enabled. If you buy the headset principally for ANC, the longest estimate with ANC disabled is not the most representative way to judge your daily routine.
Keep a suitable cable within reach if wired operation is part of your backup plan. Check that mode during setup rather than discovering how to use it halfway through an important call.
Test the fit and call controls together
Wear the headset for a normal meeting length, with glasses if applicable. Check the headband pressure, microphone position and whether you can operate mute and volume comfortably.
Use the physical controls while watching the application state during a test. If you switch between a computer and phone, practise that sequence too. A headset can sound satisfactory yet still be inconvenient if device switching interrupts your work.
Our home-office headset guide offers other options. If your headset is competing for space with chargers and accessories, our desk cable-management guide can help plan a reachable charging location.
Which package should you choose?
Choose the least complicated confirmed package that supports the devices and meeting controls you need. Compare standard and Microsoft Teams editions against your actual applications, and confirm every required base, adapter and cable in the offer.
You can check the USB-A Poly Voyager Focus 2 offer on Amazon UK. Match the full model and bundle description; a familiar headset photograph is not enough to establish identical contents.
