The Sihoo M57 is worth considering if you want a mesh chair with lumbar support you can position yourself. Its main buying question is whether those adjustments place the support where you want it while the seat and arms also fit your desk.

This is a documentation-based buying guide. We have not sat in the M57 or measured its durability, so we cannot turn the presence of an adjustment into a promise of comfort.

What can you adjust on the M57?

Sihoo describes a mesh seat and back, lumbar support that moves vertically and forwards or backwards, and armrests with height, depth and rotation adjustment. The UK page lists approximately 4.8cm of vertical lumbar travel and 3cm of depth adjustment. Its headrest also has height and angle adjustment. These are the features to check on the current M57 specification.

That combination suits a buyer who wants to set the lower-back support deliberately. It also means the initial setup deserves attention: several controls can change the position you end up using.

Do not assume “3D arms” means every possible arm adjustment. In this specification, the three directions are height, depth and rotation. If sideways movement is essential to bring the pads close to your body, confirm the usable spacing before buying.

Assess lumbar position with the seat set first

Start a trial by setting the seat height for your working position. Sit far enough back to use the backrest and bring the chair to the keyboard. Then explore the lumbar support's position and depth, changing one at a time.

The important question is whether a setting feels suitable during your actual desk task. A support pad that seems prominent when you first lean back may feel different once your hands are on the keyboard. Avoid choosing the most pronounced setting simply because it is available.

Our guide to choosing an office chair explains how to consider the chair and workstation together. A chair adjustment cannot change the physical height of a fixed desk.

Check the mesh seat's usable space

Look beyond the chair's overall width. The space between the seat's edges, its usable depth and the position of the arm pads matter more to your seated fit than the widest part of the base.

During a trial, check whether you can use the backrest without the seat front pressing uncomfortably behind your knees. Move your legs as you normally would and pay attention to the edges of the seat. Mesh is a material choice, not a universal comfort result.

If ordering online, ask for a clear seat-dimension drawing. A listing's package measurements are not a substitute. Compare those dimensions with a chair you know, noting what you would want to change about its fit.

Will the arms work with your keyboard position?

The M57's adjustable pads deserve a practical desk test. Set them for the position in which you type and use the mouse, then check whether the chair can move close enough to the work surface.

Desk arrangement Check before committing
Desktop with a deep front apron Whether the arms clear the underside at your usable seat height.
Wide keyboard with a number pad Whether your mouse position remains comfortable beside it.
Narrow desk opening Whether the chair and arms enter without repeated adjustment.
Shared home office Whether each user can reach a suitable setting and change it easily.

The office-chair buying guide covers the wider measurements to collect before ordering.

Keep M57 and M57 Pro listings separate

Check the exact model on the selected offer. A search result containing M57 can also show accessories, alternative Sihoo chairs or similarly named versions. Features described here come from the manufacturer's M57 page; they should not be transferred automatically to a Pro model or another variant.

Look for a clear model identifier, configuration, seller and return procedure. Ask what happens if the assembled chair does not fit, and keep the packaging while you assess it. An attractive headline price is less useful if the offer does not explain what chair you will receive.

Who should shortlist it?

Shortlist the M57 if you prefer manually positioned lumbar support and its seat dimensions and arm movement suit your desk. Give it a lower priority if you require a particular adjustment that the seller cannot confirm, or if the seat's usable dimensions already conflict with what you need.
